Rilakkuma themed room at Royal Park Hotel
The swank Royal Park Hotel chain is offering an unusual summer campaign: a Rilakkuma themed room, complete with exclusive souvenirs, in honor of the character’s 5th anniversary.
The plan, termed “Luxury-style relaxation rest plan,” is designed to make visitors feel like royalty, a theme that is reflected in the crown and scepter sported by the Royal Park exclusive Rilakkuma goods adorning the room (the ones pictured below are the gifts included in the package). Rilakkuma, a San-X character, is generally popular with women.
Each of the chain’s six hotels is taking part in the campaign, with each bringing its own special touch the bear-themed breakfast.
Prices vary from ¥29,500 ($275) a night in Nagoya to ¥41,500 ($386) a night in Tokyo Shiodome, but will likely go for much higher on Yahoo Auction. Do not be fooled by the cute stuffed animals, as the “luxury-style” wording suggests, this campaign is for adults (and rather wealthy ones at that).
We can’t help showing you a few more pictures.
As you can see, the options for entertainment are endless.
Hotels in Japan are constantly coming up with new campaigns to entice visitors, though they usually lean towardsoshare (stylish) packages that include spa treatments or seasonal dining specials, but then again Rilakkuma is a really popular character and his Rilakkuma Cafe pastry line-up is a little bit oshare.
I’m in Japan! ^^ I went to the rilakkuma store in Kichijoji today, here is a cookie I bought.
